MATHEMATICAL POETRY
Call for poems

My goal is to share the world of mathematics through the lens of emotions, using poetry. To do so, I need poems from mathematicians, physicists and computer scientists alike.

The objective is to share an abstract object you love, through the mean of poetry. You can write about homologies, operators, algorithms, or any other object that would otherwise be difficult to explain to an outsider. However, do not explicitely name your object in the poem! Let the reader make his own idea...
But what is poetry? According to Housman, "not to transmit thought but to set up in the reader's sense a vibration corresponding to what was felt by the writer - is the peculiar function of poetry." No poetic format is expected, so feel free to express your creativity.
Poems can be of any size, in any langage, and formatted as you wish. To make a submission, please send an email at leo.buisine(at)ens.psl.eu with your poem, the name of the object it describes, and optionally an image and/or an english translation of the poem. Since the poems will eventually be published, please also state if you prefer to be named or to stay anonymous. The deadline for submitting poems is the 1st of July.
